1. About us
Light Utilities Ltd, company no. [number], registered office [registered office address] ("we", "us"). These terms govern our energy brokerage and consultancy services to your business ("you").
2. Our service
We compare the market, present options, and arrange business energy contracts on your behalf with third-party suppliers. We act as an intermediary and broker; we are not an energy supplier.
3. Your contract is with the supplier
Any energy contract is between you and the chosen supplier. We are not a party to it and are not responsible for the supplier's performance, billing or supply.
4. Letter of Authority
You authorise us, via a signed Letter of Authority, to obtain information and quotes from suppliers on your behalf. A Letter of Authority does not commit you to any contract.
5. No fee to you; how we're paid
We do not charge you a fee. Suppliers pay us a commission, included in your unit rate, which we disclose to you before you enter a contract.
6. No guarantee of the cheapest price
We compare a panel of suppliers and aim to find you a competitive deal, but we do not guarantee the cheapest price available across the entire market. Quotes are subject to supplier acceptance and may change.
7. Your responsibilities
You confirm you are authorised to enter energy contracts for your business and that the information you give us is accurate and complete.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, and to the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to [£X / the commission we receive on the relevant contract], and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for the acts or omissions of suppliers.
9. Complaints and ADR
If you are unhappy, please see our Complaints Procedure. You may refer an unresolved complaint to [the Energy Ombudsman / our approved ADR scheme].
10. Data protection
We handle your personal data in line with our Privacy Policy.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England & Wales, and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
12. Changes
We may update these terms; the version in force is the one published on our website at the relevant time.
